Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a mass-produced gullible bachelor, habitually satisfied by going solo instead of living it up with friends. I’d wager people have never seen me talk much about great dating and companionship. That’s just me for ya.

Boredom is a fixable quality and intentionally never written into my pedigree. Even so, Winter of 09 was an exception, I had no choice but to squelch a 3-year cohabitation and I felt a great deal for but essentially carried on to nowhere. So one could tell ya it may have been a while since I dated someone new. I can’t find the great expectations in relationships I used to enjoy.

Living free and single isn’t bad. I know one thing, I refuse to sit tight, undisturbed, watching Star Trek Enterprise on DVD. The biggest factor behind this bout of temporary dating apathy? We’re not in high school, and there are fewer available women.

My accomplished football buddy, Brandon, who has never had dating apathy, informed me he’s currently somewhere he can relate. He signed up for Great Expectations Phoenix. Of course, I take to chatting up attractive chicas who meet my values. Surprise, I got real about my dating life and I’m now a satisfied member.

Here’s the deal, ya can’t feel down by being alone when ya haven’t called anyone. Just like our old basketball coach Terry Smith chimed in grinning, “There’s other fish in the bowl, Jeff.”

I don’t know why he called me that. Regardles, he was a source of truth in a way nobody could understand. He was good humored. The amazing series of singles events in Dallas here might’ve overloaded his brain.
