Cloud Computing to Be Offered by Vodafone

Vodafone mobile broadband director Huw Medcraft has stated that their customers are at present using a number of gadgets that are connected to each other and have various data stored in them. Vodafone’s new PC backup service will allow them to store all their data at one place and then access them at any point of time using any gadget that has either fixed or mobile internet network reach.

The PC backup service is based on cloud computing, where software and services are run on the internet and they are accessed using an internet browser. It is considered the future of computing, where lesser software will be run on computers and more on the net.

Vodafone stated that its PC backup service would mark the beginning of its cloud-based services. It will let users keep all their data and information at a safe location, from where they will be able to access them later using the broadband network on their own computers or on others’ computers and from anywhere in the world.

Vodafone also plans to unveil a business edition of this service, which will have a user management system in a multi-user process. It will allow an administrator to put limitations on access to classified data and information over a number of users, thus making an effective data management process.

Vodafone has not come out with a price for the service. It plans to unveil this service the coming year.
