alone by the sea

By the sea, I sit alone No one around Nothing but the sounds of the ocean waves crashing down I feel the waves come under my feet As the night sky approaches, I think to myself I think about everything I think about the present Remember the past Fear the future I think about life My life Where I came from Where God is leading me I think about my friends All the laughs All the fun times we shared How they are moving away I think about the things I’ve achieved in my life And what I’ve learned I think about my life The bad times The times I wish I was a better person The days I didn’t want to be around The times that hurt me the most The lost of blood The lack of faith Spirit and hope The shattering of my heart The birth of angels The tears pouring down my face The angry building inside of me I think and remember the yesterdays of my life The days that made me strong Even when I felt so weak By the sea, I pray for the future I pray that I find strength not to fear the future That God shines light on me and everyone I love So we can move and have strength through each day I lay down The waves roll underneath my body Moving me away from the sea and towards the steps They roll over my face I get up and walk up the stairs I turn around and look at the sea I give thanks to God through all of my thoughts He spoke to me through the motion and sounds of the waves I turn around and walk away from the shore Fearless and with the ability to walk in this world
